Dr. Cristina Szekely

I am a specialist physician in pediatric psychiatry, with experience in evaluating, diagnosing, and supporting children and adolescents going through emotional, behavioral, or adjustment difficulties. My medical activity takes place in an empathetic, safe, and carefully constructed framework, in which both the child and the family are listened to gently, understood, and supported.

I graduated from the "Iuliu Hațieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, and subsequently continued my training at the Clinic of Pediatric Psychiatry and Toxicomania Cluj-Napoca, part of the Clinical Emergency Hospital for Children Cluj-Napoca. During the training period, I accumulated clinical experience in pediatric psychiatry, including through on-call duty and participation in complex medical situations that require attention, responsibility, and an individualized approach.

In medical practice, I offer pediatric psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic recommendations adapted to each child and family. When necessary, pharmacological treatment is carefully and responsibly integrated, accompanied by parental support, counseling, and collaboration with the family. I believe that the support offered to parents is an essential part of the therapeutic process, because the child's balance is closely linked to the emotional and relational environment in which they grow up.

I am a graduate of the long-term professional training program in systemic family psychotherapy, accredited by the College of Psychologists, currently with the right to practice under supervision. Through this approach, I support families in improving communication, restoring relational balance, and rebuilding trust, so that each child can benefit from a warm, stable, and emotionally safe environment.

My professional approach is based on listening, empathy, and collaboration. I believe that every child needs to be seen beyond their symptoms, in their family, emotional, and social context, and every intervention must be adapted to their real needs.
